We did not receive the Utah Fit All Scholarship. My husband works out of town. We love the flexibility homeschool offers us. I have always homeschooled our 7-year old, Heinrich. We also have a daughter turning five next year. Heinrich is a bright, strong-willed boy. He imagines big, sometimes too big. I can’t always make it a reality. I do my best with what resources I have access to for educating my son, but I do feel it could be better.
It is expensive to educate in the home. Heinrich is very interested in robots and building. I would love to be able to access kits or programs that would allow him to explore that interest. Additional resources would help and support him. Curriculum isn’t cheap and sometimes it isn’t always the right match for the child, which is another reason for homeschooling my children. I am the best teacher for them because I am willing to customize to teach them how they learn individually. I am their mom! I know them best! The Utah Fits All Scholarship would provide access to more funding to help my children better discover their purpose and passions.
