We are an adoptive family with five biological and eight adopted children. We have a sibling group we recently adopted to keep them together! In doing this, one of our biggest concerns was, what would their education and futures look like? This is a big commitment! Because there are multiple diagnoses of fetal alcohol, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and dyslexia, these children are delayed in their progress. Their brains do not retain things the way other kids can. Due to this, and other safety concerns, we have decided to homeschool them where we can spend one-on-one time to help them in the way THEY learn best!
This funding has been a HUGE blessing for our family. It has allowed Justin, Vinny, Maliyah, Jett, and Freddie, to have a lot of time with one-on-one tutors. It has given us funding to purchase a computer, printers, a camera, and lessons specifically tailored to their individual needs. It has allowed them to take dance lessons that help them learn more about their native culture. We have seen SO much growth this year! They are reading, and we were told they may never read!
The Utah Fits All Scholarship has helped us to beat the odds. Thank you so much for this opportunity to do things that would be impossible without it! We are so grateful! We hope to be able to continue to receive it as our kids grow, as well as many other families that need it, too! Thank you SO much!
